NGUYEN CONG TRI
Nguyen Cong Tri graduated as a graphic designer from Ho Chi Minh's renowned Architecture University. Following this he increasingly began to work with celebrities and singers in Vietnam, styling their photo-shoots and constructing signature looks.
His first big break in the fashion industry came when he launched his ready-to-wear brand ‘Kin by Cong Tri’ in 2009 and 'Kin Concept', his menswear line in 2011. Nguyen Cong Tri’s collections are constructed using only the finest fabrics which are exclusively sourced for each collection. Each respective year his work pays homage to the diverse aspects of Vietnam's unique traditions and values that he grew up with.
As his design techniques matured and developed, his creations became increasingly avant-garde and it was after this design evolution that he moved to the forefront of the Vietnamese couture industry and is often dubbed as one of the visionary “Golden Generation Designers” whose invaluable contributions bolster the Vietnamese fashion market. In 2013, he became the first Vietnamese designer to launch a dedicated House of Couture, and ever since, he has been actively mentoring emerging designers to follow his lead and to collectively establish a viable fashion industry in Vietnam.
