On the 28th of June, iconic South Korean designer Songzio presented his latest collection to an audience of fashion luminaries at Paris Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by the “configuration and shape of wood,” which was reflected not only in the primarily monochromatic garments, but also in the elaborate runway stage.
Suave models in slicked back hair strutted down the runway in oversized shirts, knit tunics, and boxy pleated trousers which came in a contrasting combination of sporty mesh and lustrous silk. Lined outerwear was a common feature of the collection, which provided an enthralling tapering effect to the voluminous pleated trousers. Songzio’s signature monochromatic looks were juxtaposed with the occasional splash of vibrant orange hues and midnight blues. Gladiator sandals in patent black, matt white and gold shades were a staple of the the designers latest offering; highlighting the relaxed and wearable nature of the collection. With fashion’s elites including Didier Grumbach of the Chambre Syndicale De La Haute Couture in attendance, all eyes are on what this Korean designer will do next!
