Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF) Day 4 & 5

Koalas, city sailing and a couture exhibition, all in two thrilling days.
The day started out with a trip to the picturesque King’s Park to embrace one of Australia’s icons, the Koala, which is not commonly found in the City of Perth. Prominent Paris based fashion blogger Diane Pernet has been a huge advocate for the conservation of the Koalas and knowing that, our hosts Tourism Western Australia, graciously arranged a Koala experience to support the meaningful movement that Diane champions.
After an enjoyable time soaking in the glorious sun, the FIDé delegation adjourned to the Peroni VIP bar for an afternoon session of fine wine tasting, experiencing once again the multitude of things that Western Australia has to offer.
Feeling the warm buzz from the delicious wines, the FIDé contingent then continued their tour of Perth by yacht, sailing around the beautiful coasts of the City of Perth and engaging with the city from a different perspective. It was a light-hearted affair in celebration of the success of the international program, “International Runway – Beyond Imagination” and veritably a fashionable way of unwinding from the week of festivities and runway shows.
As the festival drew closer to the end, FIDé Fashion Weeks rode on the momentum and buzz built from the Opening Night of the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF) and in partnership with the Hawaiian Group, created yet another landmark event that would further excite the fashion forward urbanites of Western Australia.
Asian Couturier Extraordinaire and Singapore’s leading designer Frederick Lee kick started the Charity Couture Exhibition launch at the upscale Claremont Quarters.
A household name in Singapore, Frederick Lee launched his career crafting theatre costumes, and has since become known for his highly innovative and avant-garde designs. As he delved into the world of couture, he has brought along unique techniques and his trademark uninhibited creativity and as such, has created some of the most show stopping pieces that FIDé Fashion Weeks has ever seen.
The Couture Exhibition will be on show until the 5th of October at Claremont Quarters, which will not only showcases couture pieces from Frederick Lee but also fellow Couturier Extraordinaires Michael Cinco and Sebastian Gunawan. Finally, we would like to thank the Hawaiian Group, whose support has been instrumental in making this fashion initiative a huge success.
