Songzio is the Korean brand bringing you wearable art
For the first time in a decade, Songzio decided to show at London Collections Men rather than take its usual spot at Paris Fashion Week. What a relief for us, as it was one of the best collections we saw at the men’s shows. Entitled ‘Ocean’, the collection flowed soundlessly.
The Spring/Summer 2017 line perfectly blends brighter hues of aquamarine with the designer’s signature "paint on black" concept, which sees the brand fuse art with simple black clothing. Typically Songzio begins all of his collections with a visualisation on canvas, before taking his art and relaying it into a collection. This means you quite literally get a piece of wearable art when you invest in his clothing.

The slick line consists of bold and more sublime looks, contrasted against simple tailoring, but at the same time both sit naturally alongside each other. It really is a collection to cater all tastes, beginning with clean cut, structured suiting before subtly transforming into a colourful assortment of Songzio’s traditional patterns and graphics, with bold shades of green and blue reflecting the calm of the ocean.
On his decision to show at London Collections Men, Songzio said that London is "a global city for art and fashion, where style conventions are re-invented and re-imagined – there’s no better backdrop that reflects the essence of my collection." Hopefully we get to see more of Songzio as we really are big fans of his work. For now, take a look here at the full collection.
