THE ACF INVITED MEMBER DESIGNER - CHRIS CHANG
The Asian Couture Federation is pleased to announce the induction of a new ACF Member Designer from Taiwan whose international career has gone from strength to strength since she graduated from New York’s prestigious Parsons School of Design and worked for Prada Taiwan.
Now based in Shanghai, she launched her couture line and ready-to-wear collections under a brand inspired by the Latin word for poetry. Her gowns and garments are a contemporary poetic interpretation of indigenous styles from Mongolia, Tibet, Yunnan and Xinjiang. They often infuse inspiration from folklore and traditional Chinese art and performance such as Kunqu. Her chic, funky and glamorous style continues to attract a loyal and growing following across the globe and her lines have been sold in Barneys, Neiman Marcus and over twenty boutiques across the United States. Her 2016 collaboration with MAC cosmetics was launched during Shanghai Fashion Week and drew much praise for its vibrant colours and eccentric styling. Indeed, the designer sees make-up as abstract art. Underlining this designer’s suitability as the ACF's new inductee, she says of her work, “ My clothing is created for the stylish and eccentric global woman.”
